Position SummaryWe are seeking motivated and skilled Corrugated Converting Operators and Operator Assistants to join our high-performance production teams at our Cerritos and Ontario, California facilities. These roles support the safe, efficient setup and operation of converting equipment used to manufacture high-quality corrugated packaging products.
Equipment may include Specialty Folder Gluers, Flexo Folder Gluers, Flatbed Die Cutters, and Rotary Die Cutters with inline flexographic printing
. Opportunities are available on 1st and 2nd shifts
, depending on experience and operational needs.
This position is ideal for candidates with hands‑on corrugated manufacturing experience who are committed to safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement. Operator-level candidates may lead a crew, while Assistant-level candidates support setup, operation, and quality activities with opportunities for advancement.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and/or assist in the setup and operation of corrugated converting equipment, including:
- Specialty Folder Gluers
- Flexo Folder Gluers
- Flatbed Die Cutters
- Rotary Die Cutters with flexographic printing
- Support or lead a production crew of 3+ team members with a focus on safety, quality, housekeeping, and efficiency
- Perform accurate machine make‑readies and job setups according to work orders and customer specifications
- Configure and adjust machine components such as:
- Feeders, folding arms, belts, rails, compression sections
- Glue systems (cold and hot melt)
- Flexo print decks (anilox rolls, plates, ink systems)
- Rotary or flatbed die cutting systems, channel scoring, stripping, and ejection
- Conduct incoming material inspections, first‑article checks, and in‑process quality inspections
- Monitor run speeds, registration, folding accuracy, glue application, and die cut quality to minimize waste and downtime
- Troubleshoot mechanical or quality issues and accelerate complex problems to Maintenance
- Accurately record production output, scrap, downtime, and quality data in ERP or production tracking systems
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with 5S, Lean, and safety standards
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Design, Scheduling, Customer Service, Sales, Quality, and Maintenance teams
- Perform or assist with machine setup and startup checks at the beginning of each shift
- Verify job tickets, tooling, dies, print plates, inks, and materials
- Monitor production for quality and make real‑time adjustments as needed
- Clean and maintain ink, glue, and machine components
- Enter production and downtime data into tracking systems
- Complete required production and quality documentation
- Coordinate with Maintenance and Supervisors on preventative maintenance activities
- Inspect and clean tooling, dies, anilox rolls, stripping components, and accessories
- Review job changeovers and suggest improvements for efficiency and quality
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and team huddles
- Assist with training and cross‑training of crew members as needed
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot high‑speed converting equipment
- Working knowledge of corrugated substrates, flute profiles, and box styles
- Experience with folding/gluing, flexographic printing, and/or die cutting processes
- Ability to read job tickets, CAD drawings, dielines, and quality specifications
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Amtech), production reporting, and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, and safety practices preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Operator Level:
- 3‑5+ years of corrugated converting experience
- Prior leadership or crew lead experience preferred
- Operator Assistant Level:
- Manufacturing or packaging experience preferred
- Willingness to train and advance into an Operator role
- Ability to stand, bend, and work on feet for extended periods (up to 12‑hour shifts)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, inks, and adhesives
