Overview

Position:
Dishwasher/General Utility.

Location:

Lucille's BBQ Cerritos, Cerritos, CA. Type:
Part Time. Salary: $16.50 - $19.00 hourly. Shift: Any. Category:
Restaurant - Food Service. The dish and general utility position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using a machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe, and sanitary facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Working in a team environment with the ability to be an effective team player
  • Sorting and rinsing dirty dishes, glassware, tableware, and other cooking utensils and placing them in racks to send through the dish machine
  • Sorting and stacking clean dishes; carrying clean dishes to cooks line and other proper storage areas; rewashing soiled dishes before delivering
  • Changing dishwater in the dish machine every hour
  • Washing pots, pans, and trays by hand
  • Removing trash and garbage to the dumpster
  • Setting up and breaking down the dishwashing area
  • Cleaning and rolling/unrolling mats
  • Filling/emptying soak tubs with cleaning and sanitizing solutions
  • Sweeping/mopping floors
  • Assembling/disassembling the dish machine
  • Sweeping up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster
  • Performing general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed
  • Wiping up spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry
  • Notifying Manager anytime the dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures
  • Take pride in personal appearance; report to work in neat and clean clothing; maintain well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by Company policy
  • Display integrity and honesty in all aspects of employment
  • Performing other duties as directed

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of application
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Knowledge of and ability to adhere to workplace safety procedures
  • Must be able to suggestively sell food and beverage items
Preferred Qualifications
  • One or more years of full-service restaurant experience

The team member frequently lifts and carries tubs, cases, trash, and plates weighing up to 75 pounds. The team member is regularly exposed to kitchen equipment (e.g., oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer, and chef's knives). The team member works primarily indoors in a hot and damp environment and may be exposed to hazards including cuts, slips, burns, smoke, high temperatures, humidity, extreme cold, and frequent washing of hands.

Noise level is moderate to loud.
