Excavation Foreman

We are currently seeking an Excavation Foreman with a valid CDL license and experience with excavating around underground utilities to join our team in the Cerritos, CA area. As an Excavation Foreman, you will lead a repair crew in completing excavation and utility repair projects safely and efficiently. This role includes operating equipment, coordinating daily tasks, and ensuring work meets specifications while maintaining strong safety and quality standards.

We are currently offering a limited‑time sign‑on bonus of $4,000 for new hires with a valid CDL license, and sign‑on bonuses for new hires without a current CDL license are also available at a reduced amount. Eligible employees will receive the full payout.

Actual starting pay is $35.00–$45.00 per hour based on experience and type of CDL license obtained.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and supervise a field crew in performing water, sewer, and utility excavation and repair work.
  • Operate and oversee the use of heavy equipment such as backhoes and excavators.
  • Perform and direct repairs on water mains, valves, fire hydrants, service lines, and sewer point repairs.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company, city, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate daily job activities, materials, equipment needs, and site logistics.
  • Communicate with customers, inspectors, and municipal representatives throughout each project.
  • Maintain accurate daily paperwork, including production, safety, and work reports.
  • Monitor jobsite conditions, troubleshoot issues, and provide on‑site solutions.
  • Uphold high standards of crew performance, safety, and professionalism.
What We Need From You
  • Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report.
  • Manage a 4‑man Repair Crew.
  • Experience operating backhoe and excavator.
  • Experience with excavating around existing utilities.
  • Experience with sewer point repairs.
  • Have a CDL A or required to obtain a CDL A within the next 180 days.
  • Interact with customers and district & city representatives daily.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and job site following all Cal OSHA standards.
  • Maintain regular, consistent, and professional attendance, and punctuality.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Possess problem‑solving skills.
  • Able to work well in stressful situations.
  • Be a self‑motivated team player who can work well with others.
  • Complete all daily paperwork.
  • Ability to read and understand project specifications.
  • Knowledge of all types of asphalt and how to repair and restore to specifications.
  • Knowledge of cement pouring and forming.
  • Knowledge of Southern California batch plants and how to schedule and order materials.
