Job Description Summary

This role is for a Nonclinical Scientist and will support the development of diagnostic imaging agents that will make a real impact on the lives of patients. The role combines scientific contribution to nonclinical projects with broader team support, process improvement and development of effective and consistent ways of working. For this position, reporting to the Global Head of Nonclinical Development, you will bring your scientific experience, biology expertise and ability to work in a cross functional team.

You will work on the nonclinical aspects of developing imaging diagnostic agents for the diagnosis, differentiation and therapy monitoring of diseases. The individual will contribute scientifically to defined projects and activities, working with more experienced nonclinical scientists and cross-functional teams, while also helping the Nonclinical Development team operate effectively across its portfolio. A key part of the role will be identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improve organisation and information management, establish standard ways of working, and improve visibility and consistency across nonclinical activities.

The position is non-laboratory based and will appeal to you if you enjoy working on multiple projects. You will be a critical part of a team working on a broad portfolio of molecular, contrast or ultrasound imaging products in all stages of development, aiding regulatory submissions and the life cycle management of approved products.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Contribute scientific expertise in biology, pharmacology, toxicology or another relevant life-science discipline to nonclinical development programmes.
  • Support the effective operation of the Nonclinical Development team across multiple projects and programmes.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to simplify and improve team processes and ways of working.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within Nonclinical Development.
  • Provide flexible scientific and operational support across the portfolio according to changing business and project priorities.
  • Support design, planning, conduct and interpretation of appropriate in vitro and in vivo nonclinical studies.
  • Take responsibility for defined scientific activities or projects, with an appropriate level of independence depending on experience.
  • Support preparation and review of scientific and regulatory documentation, including nonclinical reports, regulatory submissions, safety assessments, scientific summaries and publications.
  • Develop knowledge across the Nonclinical Development portfolio and provide scientific support across programmes where required.
  • Be a subject matter expert for projects to support other functions and address enquires from external parties such as Health Authorities.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • An MSc or PhD in Biology, Pharmacology, Toxicology or Life Sciences or another relevant Life Science discipline, or equivalent relevant scientific experience.
  • Experience and understanding in the field of cardiology, neurology or oncology, with a focus on the areas relevant to therapeutic or diagnostic drug development
  • An understanding of imaging (PET, SPECT, CT, MR or ultrasound) is desired, but not essential
  • Previous experience with regulatory submissions, GLP safety/toxicology studies and safety risk assessments is preferred, but not critical
  • A high degree of initiative and the ability to work systematically and independently is expected
  • Proven ability to write high-quality documentation in English
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good collaborative working practices
