The Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a two (2) year structured learning and development program for select new graduates who are hired into the ASR Group Engineering team. As part of the GDP, you will have access to support and mentorship from company leaders, technical subject matter experts, and former GDP participants who will all help guide you as you start your career with us.
We are looking for entry‑level engineers in the chemical discipline.
Responsibilities- Develop multi‑discipline (chemical, mechanical, controls, industrial or electrical) proficiency during the program
- Review technical reports (Daily, Weekly, Monthly Energy/Water)
- Perform basic lab tests with supervision of lab manager, prepare daily technical report with supervision
- Produce SIPOC diagram for the department’s operations, key physical locations
- Participate in and lead Continuous Improvement projects
- General electrical troubleshooting & equipment (starters, VFD, soft starts & breakers)
- Perform operational & cost studies
- Perform tasks as an area supervisor
- Manage and monitor a large number of projects to completion
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Communicate information and ideas effectively and clearly
- Handle multiple projects at one time with a strong sense of urgency and deadline orientation
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Interest in pursuing a career path as a leader in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Write clearly and accurately
- B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college/university
- 0–2 years of professional work experience (including internships and co‑ops)
- Validated leadership experience through extra‑curricular activities, employment and/or internship experiences is required
- Strong academic record (3.0 GPA or better)
