Merchandise Display Assembly Technician – Chamblee, GA
We have immediate openings for in‑store merchandise assembly technicians in Chamblee, GA. Candidates can start within the next week. This fast‑paced, hands‑on role involves assembling merchandise for major retail chains such as Lowe’s, Home Depot, ACE Hardware, and Walmart.
Responsibilities- Read and understand instructions and follow established procedures.
- Collect all required materials and equipment.
- Take precision measurements to ensure a perfect fit of components.
- Select or modify components based on measurements and specifications.
- Align materials and assemble parts into more complex units.
- Check output to ensure highest quality.
- Maintain merchandise in good condition.
- Keep records of production quantities and time.
- Report issues, malfunctions, or defective parts.
- Check the company toolbox application for assembly quantities and time frames.
- Maximize customer interest and sales levels by displaying products appropriately.
- Proven experience as an assembler.
- Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints and drawings.
- Understanding of quality control principles.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent hand‑eye coordination and physical condition.
- Advanced knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Heavy lifting (up to 80 lbs repeatedly and daily).
- Ability to work steadily, with accuracy, precision, and speed.
- Proficiency standing, squatting, and bending for long periods.
- Ability to follow directions in the assembly of required products.
- Mechanically inclined and able to meet productivity standards.
- Capable of solving unforeseen challenges while assembling consumer products.
- Self‑motivated, energetic, and able to work well independently.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have a working mobile phone.
- Must have internet access.
- Must be available to be in the store at 9 a.m., Monday through Friday.
- Must have valid identification.
- Flexible availability (weekends as needed).
- Impact drill (at least two batteries).
- Assorted bits and adapters for drill.
- Basic hand tools – screwdriver, wrench, sockets, box cutter.
- Smartphone or smart device with Wi‑Fi or mobile internet.
This is an independent contractor position. Compensation is paid by the finished piece, with rates varying by difficulty. The faster and more accurately you work, the more you earn. Upon hire you will be a W‑4/I‑9, 1099 independent contractor.
