About the RoleA respected general contractor in Champaign, IL is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of high-quality healthcare and commercial construction projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and hands-on experience in managing complex projects alongside an experienced team.
Responsibilities- Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and coordinating all phases of construction projects.
- Help manage subcontractors, vendors, and project documentation.
- Monitor project progress and assist in maintaining timelines and budgets.
- Support compliance with safety standards and building codes.
- Prepare reports and participate in project meetings.
- 2+ years of experience in commercial construction or related field.
- Exposure to healthcare or commercial construction projects preferred.
- Understanding of construction processes and project coordination.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Familiarity with project management software (Procore, MS Project, or similar).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
