You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those that are looking for a personalized work schedule.

As an On-Demand TM, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but you will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members (via our myTime mobile scheduling app) that work best with your schedule.

When you choose to pick up a shift, reliable and prompt attendance is necessary. Active engagement by picking up and working shifts at least once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours) is required. Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but you need to respond to our attempts to contact you to confirm your interest in working shifts  you do not respond, or do not work at least one shift within 5 months, your employment may be terminated.

Your communication and ability to work when our business demands it are critical to success in this role. After a position offer, you may be required to attend a Welcome orientation and a short-term training schedule. The myTime mobile scheduling app is used to pick up shifts you desire to work.

As a Guest Advocate, a typical day will include the following responsibilities:

• Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks.
• Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs.
• Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to resolve issues and improve guest experience.
• Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target.
• Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with safety standards.
• Minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy.
• Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities and events.
• Promote and assist with Target Loyalty programs and fulfillment services; direct guests to enroll, activate and use them.
• Explain and demonstrate Wallet and other features within the Target App.
• Handle returns with guidance from leadership and in line with policy.
• De-escalate situations with leadership support as needed to recover the guest experience.
• Provide easy and accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
• Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area, including gathering abandoned items and maintaining inventory.
• Stock supplies during store hours and remain available to assist guests.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety and compliance; work safely at all times and report hazards.
• Assist with guest services such as order pickup, drive-up and returns, while complying with relevant laws and policies.
