Compensation: $125,000–$190,000 annually plus bonus, stock awards, healthcare, paid family leave, paid time off, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401(k) match, and Non‑Qualified Deferred Compensation. Salary range: $125,000–$190,000 per year.
Position SummaryThis position is a key member of the accounting team and the finance group, overseeing internal and external reporting, implementing new accounting policies, monitoring existing policies, and managing accounting operations.
Primary Accountabilities People- Manage a team of professionals in a customer‑centric culture.
- Coach, develop, and conduct performance management with direct and indirect reports.
- Identify high‑potential employees for advanced training and development.
- Effectively manage poor performers.
- Support the Chief Accounting Officer in managing external financial reporting, including annual report, quarterly earnings releases, bank regulatory reports, and legal entity regulatory reports.
- Prepare initial drafts of financial statements for Form 10‑Q and Form 10‑K, including footnotes and MD&A.
- Administer and supervise the annual and quarterly preparation process conducted by other accounting personnel.
- Review footnote documentation and MD&A information with the finance team.
- Perform detailed review of quarterly call report and Federal Reserve reports.
- Support financial reporting packages for management, audit committee, and board of directors.
- Address inquiries from internal and external auditors with supporting documentation.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate all activities of the general accounting function to ensure accurate and timely recording of entries.
- Administer and supervise the month‑end close process.
- Ensure accuracy and adequacy of internal control documentation required for enterprise risk management.
- Maintain reconciliations of balance sheet and internal DDA accounts periodically.
- Complete annual goodwill and intangible asset impairment assessments.
- Stay current with new accounting and financial reporting guidance issued by the FASB, SEC and IASB when applicable.
- Occasional travel for training and team meetings; willingness to travel within market as needed.
- May require work in a Midland office to support internal and external customers.
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 10+ years of experience in financial services or multi‑company organization.
- CPA preferred.
- Over seven years of significant bank accounting experience, including SEC reporting/public company experience.
- Working knowledge of GAAP accounting issues relevant to the banking industry.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to handle complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non‑standardized situations.
