Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented individual to serve as Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional Surveyor 1 within the Division of Field Operations. This individual will conduct surveys of facilities, including state licensure, federal certification and complaint surveys. The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional Surveyor 1 will provide expertise on issues involving developmental disabilities and is responsible for preparing written survey documentation, testifying in court and performing monitoring functions.

Under general supervision, surveys facilities to determine compliance with state licensure requirements, federal certification mandates, and Department directives, program policies and procedures. Travels to conduct routine health and safety surveys to determine the compliance with state and federal requirements. Interviews facility residents, staff, administrators, health care providers and other individuals. Provides technical support on issues related to compliance with regulations associated with psychiatric disorders and related areas.
