Overview
Seeking a highly motivated individual interested in supporting multiple areas within the ambulatory clinic setting. The Certified Medical Assistant / Registered Medical Assistant performs routine administrative and patient care support duties in a medical practice to assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensures that the office runs smoothly.

- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (AMT) - American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) - National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Health career Association (NHA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (ARMA) - American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (AAH) - American Allied Health (AAH)
- Education:
H.S. Diploma/GED - Work Experience:
Rooming patients, telephone interactions, administrative tasks, office procedures, and various clinical duties as directed by providers.
- Rooming patients:
Collecting pertinent information regarding the patient's chief complaint, family history, social history, surgical history, and medication reconciliation upon arrival for a patient visit. - Telephone interactions:
Completing necessary telephone communications with patients, families, pharmacies, and/or other health care facilities; gathering information and maintaining patient records via telephone per department specific processes and policies. - Administrative tasks:
Patient check‑in/out, prior authorizations, scheduling appointments, verification of benefits, and coordination of referrals and testing. - Office procedures as directed:
Urine catheterizations, bladder scanning, suture or staple removal, cast application/removal, reading negative TB skin tests, steering patients to department nurse for positive TB screening, and other diagnostic testing at point of care. - Provide patient written instructions regarding procedures, medications, or follow‑up instructions at provider direction; retrieve and provide condition specific education from approved resources.
- Administer medications per provider orders.
- Assist with prescription medication refills per department protocols, call medications into pharmacies, notify patients of refills, and document actions within the EMR.
- Maintain department specific competencies related to point‑of‑care testing, equipment handling, and specialty training.
- React to frequent changes in duties and volumes of work.
- Effective oral and written communication skills and commitment to respectful treatment of all colleagues.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, reliable transportation, and float staff flexibility to perform all department specific functions within scope.
- Medication reconciliation, injections, medication refill requests, point‑of‑care testing processing lab specimens, prior authorizations, and completion of clear coverage for HAMP as needed.
