The Sterile Processing Distribution (SPD) Technician at Carle SPD is responsible for decontaminating, disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, packaging, and sterilizing instrumentation for surgical cases, clinics and nursing units. Follows standards per AAMI and Infection Control guidelines and provides both disposable and reusable equipment to the OR.
The role supports OR operations by stocking supplies, documenting processing parameters, and ensuring instruments are ready for next-day cases
