Overview
Senior Manager, Plasma Science & Innovation role are leading a materials revolution focused on decarbonization, energy storage, advanced sensors, and the development of Lyten 3D Graphene. This position co-leads one of the flagship Innovation Centers, guiding a multidisciplinary team to translate laboratory innovations into scalable, commercial solutions.
Responsibilities- Deliver strategic and technical leadership to the Innovation Center, aligning with the CIO’s vision and driving innovation in advanced material development.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and technicians.
- Set goals, monitor performance, and document results to ensure clear, actionable outcomes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, engineering, and commercial teams to translate innovations into scalable solutions.
- Coordinate with Fellows to align goals with the product roadmap.
- Establish and manage external partnerships with universities, research institutes, and industry collaborators.
- Collaborate with the Reactors and Materials Development team to share and implement cross-functional technology.
- Oversee project portfolios to ensure on-time, on-budget, high-quality delivery.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement within the Innovation Center.
- Master’s degree in science/engineering with 7+ years in R&D/innovation within chemical/pharmaceutical/advanced materials sectors OR Ph.D. in Science/Engineering with 5+ years.
- 2–5 years in a technical leadership role (manager or equivalent).
- Proven experience leading R&D teams, setting strategy, and delivering innovations from lab to commercialization.
- Excellent leadership, people development, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to thrive in a fast-paced innovation environment.
- 10–12 years of industry experience in R&D/innovation within chemical/pharmaceutical/advanced materials sectors.
- 8–10 years in a technical leadership role.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
The expected base salary range is $ – $. The final pay within the range depends on location, experience, education, and skills. This position is eligible for tier-based bonus, equity, healthcare, dental, vision, 401K, relocation assistance (if applicable), and other benefits as applicable.
