Overview
Our Cloud9 Cannabis location is hiring a Dispensary Store Leader (General Manager) who will oversee and manage the retail dispensary in Champaign, IL. The Dispensary Store Leader will supervise all people and process management duties within the dispensary location. The core focus is managing staff, inventory, and customer relationships, as well as tracking financial goals for the dispensary. This role reports directly to the Director of Retail at Cloud9 Cannabis.
This individual will demonstrate leadership qualities to coach, reinforce, and continuously provide feedback to the retail team. The role requires motivation, positivity, and eagerness to lead our dispensary through business operations.
Responsibilities- Team and Leadership Functions:
Hire, manage and cross-train staff in all relevant task areas; manage annual performance reviews; act as a cultural leader; protect store assets, facilities, and team members by ensuring adherence to operational guidelines and safety/security policies, and proper maintenance of store equipment. - P&L Functions:
Meet revenue goals with holistic management practices, staff training, and customer relations; collaborate with the Director of Retail to create deals and promotions, set competitive pricing, and sell in-house brands. - Logistical Functions:
Oversee inventory management processes (intake, reconciliation, compliance); promote a culture of compliance through staff training and relationships with State Inspectors; manage all in-store cash flow (till setting, cash handling, deposits); manage all supply ordering for the dispensary; coordinate facility maintenance with leadership. - Customer Relations Functions:
Create a culture of customer service that promotes loyalty and retention; effectively train staff on company processes, products, and service philosophy; build relationships with customers on the sales floor and address feedback promptly.

- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where flexibility, reliability, and resourcefulness are key.
- Bachelor’s degree in business-related field, operations, hospitality, management, or project management preferred; equivalent experience also considered.
- Knowledge of the cannabis industry as it relates to cash handling, product knowledge, inventory processes, compliance, and audits.
- Minimum 5 years’ managerial experience in a specialized retail environment overseeing one or multiple locations.
- Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Leaf Logix, METRC, etc.
- 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass all required background checks under Illinois cannabis laws.
