Assistant Pastor

The Assistant Pastor will support the Lead Pastor in shepherding the congregation, preaching and teaching God's Word, and advancing the mission and vision of Faith Baptist Church. This person should be a spiritually mature, servant hearted, and authentic leader who serves with joy and love for God and others, helping people grow in faith and contributing their unique gifts to the life of the church.

This is a full time position.

• Preach during worship services on a regular, rotational, or as needed basis.
• Lead Bible studies, discipleship classes, or small groups as assigned.
• Assist in sermon preparation and planning alongside the Lead Pastor.

• Provide spiritual support, visitation, and prayer for members and families.
• Assist with weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other pastoral duties.
• Help organize systems for member follow up and care.

• Partner with staff and lay leaders to strengthen and expand church ministries.
• Recruit, equip, and encourage volunteers and ministry leaders.
• Provide leadership to student and youth ministries.

• Collaborate with the Lead Pastor in planning services and special events.
• Participate in staff meetings and church planning sessions.
• Contribute to administrative and organizational tasks as needed.

• -upport local evangelism and community outreach initiatives.
• Represent Faith Baptist Church with humility and grace in the Champaign community.
