Champaign-Urbana Public Health District

The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District (CUPHD) seeks a full-time (40-hour week) Licensed Practical Nurse III for the Planning & Research division.

• Monitors medication inventory using the district electronic medical records.
• Provides counseling regarding behaviors associated with health risk and/or control of communicable diseases.
• Communicates service plans and expected outcomes to clients and/or families.
• Services provided by the Licensed Practical Nurse include TB testing and management.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relations with employees, government officials, health care providers and the general public.
• Conducts epidemiological investigations in coordination with other public health programs on confirmed and suspected cases of communicable diseases.
• Public Health Emergency Response Responsibilities:
  All District employees must be able to respond to public health emergencies when needed and appropriate. During an emergency response, employee may be assigned to a role in either operations, logistics, or administration by the Incident Commander and/or Chief in addition to regular duties.
• Performs other duties as required.
• This is an in-person position.

• Graduation from a recognized program in practical nursing, a current and unrestricted licensure for practical nursing in the State of Illinois
• A current IL Driver's license is required.

The expected annual starting salary is $47,170. Full annual salary range for a Class 5 Licensed Practical Nurse III is $47,170 - $63,679 for a 40-hour week.
