Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assumes responsibilities for direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or other provider in patient care departments. Provides nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the LPN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.

  Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)

• Provide direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse, midlevel provider or physician. Nursing care is guided by the provider orders and the nursing plan of care within the LPN scope of practice.
• Report patient response to care to registered nurse or other provider for evaluation, intervention and modification of the plan of care.
• Ensure documentation of care is complete and accurate.
• Collect and process specimens accurately.
• Change dresses, insert catheters.
• Administer medication via oral/injection/inhalation.
• Perform hearing and vision screening.
• Medication refills within scope.
• Complete forms (appeals, prior authorizations, MRI screens).
• Patient teaching.

The compensation range for this position is $21.74 per hour - $36.31 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
