Position Title: Service Technician II
Reports To: Field Supervisor or General Manager
Status: Full-time, Regular position

Position SummaryUnder minimal supervision, performs diagnostic and service work on residential and/or light commercial HVAC equipment and accessories. Communicates with customers to answer questions, resolves problems, and ensures complete customer satisfaction. Promotes products and services to customers. Works under the direction of the Field Supervisor or General Manager.
Responsibilities- Work under minimal supervision to perform residential and/or light commercial service and maintenance calls
- Analyze, diagnose, and resolve customer problems in a courteous, professional, timely, and accurate manner
- Diagnose and perform services on heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment as well as accessories in an accurate and timely manner
- Inspect equipment and perform diagnostics to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
- Complete routine maintenance and equipment cleaning as needed or required
- Deliver and remove parts and equipment needed to complete service work
- Record all required information on hand‑held device; complete all forms and paperwork neatly, timely, accurately. Collect payment from customer.
- Communicate with dispatch to ensure dispatcher has an accurate status report of activities and availability
- Provide excellent customer service and sustain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Promote products and services to the customer. Call Sales and Service Coordinator with specifics on replacement product sales leads generated from customer service visit.
- Ensure company property, vehicles, and tools are used, maintained, and properly accounted for
- Represent the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters and activities
- Follow standard procedures and process; keep vehicle stocked; return defective warranty parts to the branch; order/replenish vehicle stock as needed
- Perform similar or other duties as needed or assigned
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance
Roles and Responsibilities
- Report unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards to direct supervisor/manager immediately
- Report any contravention of legislation or company policy, procedure, or program to direct supervisor/manager immediately
- Correct substandard acts or conditions within area of control
- Use and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s)
- Never remove or render ineffective safety guards, devices, or clothing prescribed to be in place or worn
- Comply with the general rules as prescribed by company program(s) procedure(s)
- Operate devices or equipment as prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s)
- Participate in any safety initiatives, teams, or committees
- Report all injuries or incidents as prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s) immediately
- Provide input on developing safety initiatives and plans to eliminate exposures that could cause accidents
- Do not perform acts that may endanger the safety or well‑being of others
- Do not engage in pranks, contests, or rough boisterous behavior
- Work in compliance with applicable legislative requirement
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with additional training and 2+ years’ experience in HVAC; technical training certification required
- Must possess all valid licensing or certification required by federal, state, provincial, or local laws or regulations for the work area
- EPA and safety certifications required
- Skilled at servicing heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment as well as related accessories
- Proficient mechanical aptitude and ability to operate necessary tools and equipment
- Proficient at reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems on HVAC equipment
