Senior Software Engineer – Champaign, IL – Up to $350K Base (DOE)

Do you want to get your foot in the door at a Hedge Fund? You’ll be working for a software consultancy engaged to build software for a global Hedge Fund – including the front office trading teams.

We’re building a new team that works directly with the CTO. The CTO is already established in the UK and we are launching the US expansion. With a goal of 20 staff by the end of the year, you’ll be an early member of the team and influence future directions.

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance trading systems in Java.
• Collaborate with front‑office traders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in code review, performance tuning, and best‑practice implementation.
• Help scale the operation to support 20 staff by the end of the year and influence future directions.

• Mid‑Senior level with solid Java experience in a complex environment.
• Experience with Calypso or similar front‑office trading platforms is a plus but not required.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Self‑motivated and comfortable in an early‑stage, growth‑stage environment.

Compensation will be based on experience and will include a competitive base salary, performance bonuses, and equity.
