Position OverviewRapid Packaging has a new impactful opportunity for an Equipment Channel Sales Specialist. Join a team that partners with customers to achieve success while driving business growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Lead sales and support efforts for packaging equipment solutions for Rapid Packaging.
- Partner with the sales team to conduct customer visits, assess needs, develop proposals, and deliver presentations, with a focus on acquiring new business from targeted accounts.
- Manage the full sales process—from qualification through closing—while driving the achievement of sales targets and objectives.
- Develop and maintain a healthy equipment pipeline by leveraging CRM systems, industry connections, and strategic prospecting.
- Conduct on-site project demonstrations, equipment installations, and facility assessments.
- Lead contract and pricing negotiations with clients to maximize profitability while owning and managing the equipment sales budget.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on packaging equipment, automation technologies, and system integration.
- Develop and equip vendor partners to design and deliver customized automation and equipment solutions.
- Support service team efforts by promoting equipment services and preventive maintenance programs.
- Lead equipment training initiatives for sales and support teams, with an emphasis on value‑added selling, process efficiencies, and industry‑specific solutions.
- Introduce and share new methods for applying company products and automation to meet customer needs and drive measurable results.
- Provide oversight of post‑sales support—by fostering strong customer and vendor relationships, coordinating installations, establishing preventive maintenance plans, and engaging appropriate resources to ensure a seamless and successful implementation experience.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the industry, product and market knowledge, and trends through seminars, workshops, and training sessions to support sales and relationship development. Attend regular sales meetings, trade shows and other conventions.
- Develop a great understanding of Rapid Packaging’s customers’ business, automation initiatives and growth objectives. Address customers’ needs by aligning the right equipment solutions with the customer’s objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years industrial selling experience; expertise in flexible packaging, equipment, or distribution is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook); experience with CRM is a plus.
- Strong understanding and comfort using sales methodologies and techniques (consultative selling, solution selling, value‑based selling).
- Proven track record of successful sales accomplishments.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on building long‑term relationships.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to close deals effectively.
- Highly organized with excellent follow‑up skills and a strong sense of urgency in addressing customer inquiries.
- Ability to act independently, take initiative and drive tasks and issues to resolution.
- Strong interpersonal skills, problem‑solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and respond to questions in group settings and across varied audiences.
- Must have good mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand, operate, and maintain equipment using diagnostic tools.
- Ability to read and understand technical information and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to calculate ratios, percentages, budgets, and ROI accurately to support profitability and planning initiatives.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively.
