Senior Project Manager – Underground Utility Construction

$130,000–$156,000 per year + profit share

White & White Contracting is a self-performing underground utility contractor in Chandler, Arizona. We build wet and dry utilities, including sewer, water, storm drain, fire line, irrigation, and dry utility systems, for commercial, multifamily, public, and irrigation-district clients. We're an owner-operated company building a professional, systems-driven organization, and we're looking for people who want to grow with it.

You'll be our first Senior Project Manager, and you'll own the project management side of the company. You'll report directly to ownership, work with clients, superintendents, and crews every day, and build the PM function the way it should be run. If you're a strong PM at a larger GC or utility contractor and there's no clear path to senior PM or operations leadership where you are, this is that path.

Our long-term plan is to grow our operations leaders from inside the PM team.

• Several active underground utility jobs at once, from award through closeout: buyout, submittals, scheduling, production, billing, and closeout
• Change orders from start to finish: spotting when a job is drifting from the bid, knowing what's a change and why, then packaging, pricing, submitting, and tracking it until it's paid
• Job financials: job costing, cost to complete, monthly billing goals, and project cash flow. You'll close jobs out fast because you know retention and cash matter as much as margin
• Look-ahead scheduling, plus coordinating deliveries, inspections, testing, and locates with our superintendents and foremen
• Client relationships with GCs, developers, owners, and engineers, with fast, professional responses
• Managing subs and suppliers on your jobs

• 5+ years running your own underground utility, heavy civil, or utility-heavy site jobs, with your own budgets and margins
• Real knowledge of underground wet and dry utility scope. You'll need it from day one
• A track record of handling multiple jobs and multiple field leaders at the same time
• A solid understanding of billing, job costing, and change order documentation
• Experience with HCSS Heavy Job and Heavy Bid is a plus; you'll need to pick up our systems quickly

• You take ownership and fix problems, whether or not they're technically your job
• You move with urgency and don't wait to be told
• You see a job as a P&L, not a checklist
• You're confident and assertive, and you're coachable. You can take direction, adjust, and keep moving
• You bring ideas on field efficiency, fleet, and margin, and you're willing to try them
• You fit in on a small, close office team

• $130,000–$156,000 base salary, based on experience
