Job Summary

This position begins in August, 2026. Provides instruction in mathematics courses in alignment with CGCC's college goals and learner-centered instructional philosophy, as well as with CGCC's Math Division Vision and Mission, to a various student population. Uses multiple methods and modalities of instruction, assessment and appropriate technologies to engage students and promote student success. Demonstrates a commitment to rigorous curriculum, innovative strategies for teaching and learning, collaboration, service excellence and professional development.

Essential

Functions
  • Supervises, instructs, evaluates, and monitors learning of a various population of students in classroom, or online, using a variety of learning strategies such as active learning, service learning, instructional technology, or other as appropriate. Reviews, revises, and develops curriculum. Is available on campus to support and mentor adjunct faculty. Maintains office hours to assist and advise students.
  • Actively participates in service to the college that contributes to the support of student learning. Service includes involvement in district-wide, campus and departmental committees, activities, and initiatives.
  • Develops and enhances knowledge of subject matter taught and individual skills required to stay current with new trends and developments in the field, including attendance at conferences, courses, seminars, and/or workshops.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A master's degree or higher in the teaching field*
  • OR
  • A master's degree or higher in any field with 18 graduate credit hours**

    Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Operations Research, Decision Sciences, Mathematics Education, Secondary Education with emphasis in Mathematics, Curriculum and Instruction with Emphasis in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics
  • ** The following course titles and keywords meet the requirements for graduate credit:
    Mathematics, probability, statistics, applied mathematics, actuarial science, operations research, decision sciences, mathematics education, physics, engineering, or computer science courses with significant mathematical content.
Desired Qualifications
  • Four (4) or more years of full-time mathematics teaching at the high school OR 32 or more mathematics sections/classes taught at the college level.
  • Experience teaching a variety of college-level mathematics courses such as College Mathematics, College Algebra, Precalculus, Trigonometry, Brief Calculus, Calculus (I, II, III), etc. This may also include teaching Intermediate Algebra and other Developmental Mathematics classes in a college setting.
