Project Engineer, Civil Engineering

Position Overview

We are seeking motivated and detail‑oriented Project Engineers to support a large‑scale heavy civil transportation project. This role will support project management teams during the design phase and transition into construction execution. Ideal candidates will have strong administrative capabilities combined with exposure to construction field operations and an interest in heavy civil infrastructure.

• Engineer I / Junior Project Engineer:
  • 1–2 years of relevant construction or engineering experience
  • Recent graduates may be considered based on internship experience and aptitude
• Project Engineer:
  • 3–5 years of experience in heavy civil construction or transportation projects
• Heavy civil experience is preferred; however, candidates with limited experience but a strong interest in the heavy civil/transportation industry will be considered.

• Assist with project controls, scheduling, and cost tracking
• Support contract and subcontract administration, including change orders and documentation
• Maintain project records, including correspondence, submittals, RFIs, and progress tracking
• Review and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
• Coordinate with field teams to support daily construction activities
• Assist in ensuring project quality, schedule adherence, and compliance
• Support estimating, forecasting, and reporting efforts as required

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• Experience or exposure to roadway, highway, and transportation projects preferred
• Strong administrative and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
• Familiarity with estimating, scheduling, and project management software is a plus
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team
• Willingness to travel or support field operations as required

• Design phase is currently underway and expected to last 6–7 months prior to construction start
