Basic Job Functions
  • Monitor and operate a diverse portfolio of large and small aggregate generators across multiple monitoring and control platforms.
  • Interpret complex operating situations in light of regulatory and contractual obligations—including O&M Agreements, Power Purchase Agreements, Interconnect Agreements, Balancing Authority tariffs, and NERC standards.
  • Enforce O&M change‑management policies to safeguard generator owners.
  • Recommend mitigation strategies for high‑priority alarm conditions that could expose the company to risk.
  • Operate multiple power‑plant control systems, predict grid response to control actions, and implement voltage schedules according to contracts.
  • Develop and document alarm response plans for all trouble indications; coordinate immediate responses for high‑risk issues and provide required notifications to owners and regulators.
  • Conduct failure analysis using historical data, classify outages, and provide reliability data for future process development.
  • Maximize fleet value through collaboration with maintenance teams and ensuring contractual dispatch obligations are met.
  • Manually generate forecasts when forecasting systems fail, following proven worksheets and O&M procedures.
  • Maintain operator logs for capacity tracking, trouble conditions, contract changes, and regulatory interactions.
  • Report real‑time capacity or outage information to capacity or energy markets in accordance with market tariffs and agreements.
  • Review safety procedures for medium‑ and high‑voltage switching, ensuring minimum isolation requirements and regulatory standards are met.
Sign‑On Bonus

Experience
  • 6+ years in power‑plant operations with high‑voltage experience.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of general plant and system processes, electrical and SCADA systems.
  • Able to analyze equipment performance and identify issues using software tools.
Required Skills Behavioral
  • Coordinate multiple activities while ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
  • Take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, and collaborate with others.
  • Work effectively in high‑stress environments where decisions impact personnel safety and equipment reliability.
Technical
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Project, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience troubleshooting plant SCADA systems and CMMS platforms.
  • Knowledge of power‑system dynamics for predicting grid impacts during control actions.
  • Understanding of electronic power‑system protection equipment behavior.
  • Experience with VBA and/or SQL is a plus.
Education
  • Degree emphasizing power systems, formal operations apprenticeship training, or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience may be considered.
