The IT Telecom Engineer is responsible for designing, modeling, and verifying the installation of telecommunications and network systems, ensuring reliable connectivity and compliance with industry standards. This role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimized, high-quality telecom solutions for large facility implementations.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities- Design and implement telecommunications and network systems tailored for advanced technology facilities.
- Model and verify installation of telecom and network infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption to sensitive environments.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to telecom and network system construction in high‑tech settings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, facility managers, and vendors, to ensure precise system integration.
- Analyze telecom systems and recommend improvements for reliability, scalability, and security in mission‑critical environments.
- Stay current with emerging telecom technologies, standards, and trends relevant to advanced technology facilities.
- Provide technical support and training to end‑users and facility staff on telecom and network systems.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, industry regulations, and facility‑specific requirements.
- Participate in quality assurance (QA) and site data collection (SDC) activities for large‑scale facility implementations.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for system design, installation, compliance, and operational procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience as an IT Telecom Engineer or in a similar role, preferably in advanced technology facilities (e.g., data centers, semiconductor fabs, clean rooms).
Preferred
- Familiarity with Revit and/or AutoCAD for system modeling and documentation.
- Prior experience as a consulting engineer preferred.
- Prior experience with Advanced Technology.
- Experience working within a team environment.
- Experience in the quality control review process.
- Experience contributing to continuous improvement processes.
