Key ResponsibilitiesThe Engineer manages all construction, financial, and regulatory aspects for multiple, simultaneous Network infrastructure projects.
Project & Financial Management- Lead the entire construction lifecycle, including: RFQ/RFP process, contract negotiation, sealed bid coordination, distributing bid packages, coordinating bid walk, awarding projects, monitoring progress, and issue resolution.
- Manage project financials completely, from the initial proposal/bid through final receipt of product or service.
- Generate and manage budgetary funding requests and purchase orders.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, proactively managing tasks, milestones with outside vendors, and tracking long lead purchases.
- Analyze the impact of schedule changes and implement corrective actions to ensure projects remain on track.
- Coordinate and lead all RFQ issuance, evaluate responses against purchasing requirements, and provide detailed vendor analysis and selection recommendations.
- Provide regular project status reports to management and the project team.
- Manage construction from the initial site design visit through completed drawings, including design review for civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical feasibility, and conducting value engineering.
- Serve as the interface with internal and external departments, including municipal agencies, to secure building permits, construction inspections, and ultimately obtain certificates of occupancy for network facilities.
- Establish and enforce quality assurance methods, procedures, standards, and technical training related to site design and construction.
- Evaluate new products, services, and vendors by assessing pros and cons, including system impact, costs, compatibility, ease of use, reliability, and timing parameters.
- Lead new or large program deployments, onboard new vendors, and provide guidance to junior engineers.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in certain aspects of construction, modification, or equipment configurations.
- Collaborate with partners to establish project designs, scope, deliverables, and timelines.
- Provide team leadership and guidance for individual and team growth and development.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism by promptly responding to emails, actively participating in meetings, clearly explaining issues, providing updates, maintaining accurate records, working effectively with other departments, and understanding the role’s impact on overall business goals.
- Perform daily activities, including schedule and financial management, and interfacing with vendors via calls and meetings.
- Function as a team player with the ability to communicate effectively across a wide variety of groups.
- Wireless network management experience, preferably in a Project Coordinator (PC) or Project Manager (PM) role with construction knowledge, within the telecommunications/data networking or wireless industry.
- Expertise in Cellular Design and Construction (including Macro and Small Cell), with familiarity in Ericsson/Nokia equipment, DC plant design, and general construction principles.
- Solid understanding of telecom networking, networks, technologies, equipment designs, configuration procedures, and inventory management.
- Knowledge of fiber installation and standards.
- Proficiency with Telecommunication internal systems and tools (e.g., Fuze, Ops Tracker, People Soft, Une Fi) and the technical aptitude to navigate them.
- Telecommunication Experience is a Plus.
- Strong technical and project management skills.
- Excellent PC and software application skills, including Windows and Google Suite products.
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong track record of leadership and management.
Required:
Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) from an accredited university. Preferred majors include Civil/Architectural/Mechanical/Electrical/Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
Preferred:
Master's degree (including MBA) or relevant technical certification (P.E., P.M.P.).
