Mechanical Engineer; Cleanrooms & HVAC)

Talascend is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity with our client in Chandler, Arizona
.

This role involves leading mechanical design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes, primarily supporting projects within the clean rooms and HVAC systems sector.

• Conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for mechanical aspects of projects.
• Lead the design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes to meet project requirements.
• Perform detailed phases of engineering work in the mechanical discipline for various projects or staff groups.
• Coordinate efforts between engineering groups, clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure project success.
• Communicate complex technical issues and recommend effective solutions to management.
• Mentor designers and drafters through on-the-job training to support their professional development.
• Support the development of engineering procedures, design guides, and best practices within the department.

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college.
• 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
• Good working knowledge of international standards for clean rooms and controlled environments, including ISO 14644 series and IEST-RP standards.
• Deep knowledge of equipment packages such as air handling systems, air condensing units, variable air volume units, and cleanroom recirculation air and exhaust systems.
• Understanding of systems, calculations, equipment, applications, and plant layout related to HVAC and air handling units.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues confidently in a field or on-site setting and instruct others on resolution methods.
• Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting deadlines, multiple tasks, and interruptions effective.

• Knowledge of systems, materials, and computer applications for analysis and project deliverable development within the discipline.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, and IMC for HVAC and air handling units.
