Role Description The Senior Structural Engineer – PE will lead structural design and analysis for projects utilizing the Saebi Alternative Building System (SABS) and other advanced building technologies. This full-time, on-site role in Chandler, AZ involves performing complex structural calculations, reviewing and approving design documents, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. The position includes preparing and checking engineering drawings, collaborating closely with architects, contractors, and internal teams, and providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

The Senior Structural Engineer will support product development, optimize structural systems for performance and cost, and contribute to continuous improvement of Xtrata’s engineering practices. The role also entails mentoring junior engineers and supporting client presentations and technical documentation as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering, with demonstrated experience in building design and construction.
• Proficiency in Calculations, SOLIDWORKS and Structural Analysis for a variety of structural systems, including composite and alternative materials.
• Applied experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for preparing and reviewing detailed structural drawings and models.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in a U.S. state, with ability to obtain licensure in Arizona if not already held.
• Experience with relevant building codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC) and their application to real-world projects.
• Ability to lead projects, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and provide mentorship to early-career engineers.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail and a focus on safety and quality.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; master’s degree or specialization in structural engineering is a plus.
• Experience with innovative or alternative building systems, energy-efficient design, or advanced construction materials is beneficial.
