We are seeking an HR Generalist/Recruiter to join our Human Resources team and support the full range of HR operations including staffing, HRIS accuracy, payroll monitoring, onboarding/offboarding, leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, benefits support, and employee relations. This role is ideal for any HR professional who is energized by multifaceted HR contributions impacting many areas, balancing people-facing responsibilities with structured HR process responsibilities.
Job Duties Recruiting & Talent Acquisition- Manages full cycle recruiting for hourly manufacturing, technical, and professional roles.
- Partner with hiring managers to define job needs, create job descriptions, and develop sourcing strategies.
- Sources candidates through job boards, social media, industry networks, career fairs, and local community partners.
- Conducts initial screenings, interviews, and reference checks; coordinate hiring decisions and offers.
- Maintains an excellent candidate experience and supports employer branding efforts.
- Assists the Corporate Recruiter with the staffing function as needed.
- Coordinates new-hire onboarding, orientation, and documentation; ensures smooth integration with managers and tracks new hire training requirements.
- Oversees the offboarding process, including exit documentation, HRIS updates, and coordination with IT and Payroll.
- Maintains compliance with company procedures and recordkeeping standards.
- Executes accurate HRIS data entry for hires, terminations, promotions, compensation changes, job changes, and personal data updates.
- Conducts regular audits to ensure data integrity across HR, payroll, benefits, and compliance records.
- Supports HRIS troubleshooting, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
- Reviews timecards for missed punches and corrects recording of hours worked.
- Supports Payroll Specialist in Finance to review payroll batch data for accuracy with HRIS updates, attendance, shift changes, pay rates, and employee status changes.
- Partners with Payroll Specialist to investigate discrepancies and ensures timely correction of errors.
- Helps maintain alignment with internal controls and applicable wage and hour laws.
- Assists in administering leaves of absence (FMLA, medical, personal, disability, etc.), ensuring proper documentation, communication, and tracking.
- Supports workers’ compensation claims, incident reporting, communication with case managers, and return-to-work coordination.
- Provides employees with guidance on benefit programs and escalates complex issues as needed.
- Ensures relevant updates are accurately reflected in the HRIS and communicated to Payroll.
- Serves as a primary HR contact for employees and supervisors, addressing policy questions, workplace concerns, and general HR inquiries.
- Assists with employee relations matters including documentation, coaching conversations, and investigations under the direction of senior HR staff.
- Supports performance management processes including goal cycles, corrective actions, and development planning.
- Promotes positive employee engagement through communication, recognition, and support initiatives.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (EEO, FMLA, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, etc.).
- Supports internal and external audits, including documentation gathering and data verification.
- Ensures timely completion and accuracy of mandatory reporting and recordkeeping.
- Assists with company wide training and HR policy updates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of HR generalist/ recruiting experience; manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of HRIS platforms and payroll processes.
- Familiarity with workers’ compensation, LOA administration, and basic benefits processes.
- Sound understanding of HR regulations and best practices.
