Life at Intel:
Intel's Foundry Automation (IFA) group is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Storage Engineer. In this role, you will lead the architecture, deployment, optimization, and lifecycle management of Net App storage platforms supporting engineering, cloud, virtualization, Open Shift, and AI infrastructure environments. You will be responsible for delivering scalable NAS, object, and data protection solutions while also supporting enterprise SAN services and storage integration across virtualized and platform services environments.
This role is central to designing, implementing, maintaining, and scaling high-performance storage platforms that support Intel Foundry's critical infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with platform engineering, cloud, Dev Ops, virtualization, and software engineering teams to build reliable, automated, and highly available storage services. The ideal candidate combines deep Net App expertise with storage engineering, automation, and operational excellence. Experience with enterprise SAN technologies, Fibre Channel fabrics, block storage provisioning, and storage networking concepts is highly desirable to support mixed storage environments and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
- Plan, manage, and optimize installation, configuration, and tuning of Net App NAS platforms, SAN, SDS, object storage, and backup solutions.
- Design and implement scalable storage solutions supporting bare metal, virtualized, containerized, and cloud environments.
- Manage storage provisioning, replication, data protection, performance optimization, capacity management, and lifecycle activities.
- Lead storage modernization, migration, and automation initiatives while maintaining operational standards and documentation.
- Monitor performance and utilization, troubleshoot storage issues, and ensure high availability and data integrity across the environment.
- Partner with infrastructure, virtualization, networking, cloud, and software engineering teams to deliver reliable and scalable storage services.
- Strong hands-on experience with Net App ONTAP administration, including NAS services, data protection, and storage lifecycle management.
- In-depth knowledge of NAS, SAN, SDS, and Object Storage technologies, including configuration, performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with storage protocols including NFS, SMB/CIFS, S3, Fibre Channel (FC), and iSCSI.
- Experience with Net App technologies such as Snap Mirror, Snap Vault, Snapshot, Flex Vol, Flex Group, and Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs).
- Familiarity with enterprise SAN platforms such as Power Max or similar enterprise storage arrays.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam and Snap Vault.
- Strong background supporting on-premises storage infrastructure in physical and virtualized environments, with familiarity in hybrid cloud integration.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Python, Power Shell, and REST APIs to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve storage, performance, replication, and capacity-related issues.
- Effective in collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams and communicating complex technical concepts clearly.
Candidates must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience administering enterprise storage environments.
- Experience with Net App AFF, FAS, ASA, and other related platforms.
- Experience with Open Shift, Kubernetes, and Net App Trident.
- Experience with Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity, or other enterprise backup solutions.
