American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiac Telemetry unit requiring 2 years of recent experience and ACLS/BLS certification in a Level 1 trauma acute care setting.

• 32-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit (CV Tele) in an acute care, Level 1 trauma hospital
• Patient population includes post cath lab, post vascular procedures, day 2 CABG patients, and general telemetry cases requiring titration of Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Dobutamine (titrate down only)
• Patients 15 years and older, no pediatric population
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4 with PCT support at 1 tech per 16 patients
• Charge nurse and clinical supervisor provide unit oversight with no patient assignment
• Centralized telemetry monitoring requiring RNs to interpret EKGs independently
• Uses Cerner EMR
• 12-hour day shifts, 7a-7p
• Every other weekend required
• Work 2 of 3 major holidays
• First to float to similar or lower acuity units
• No ventilator management or IV team on this unit
• Hospitalist rounds during the day and is on call at night
• Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available 24/7

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience, within the past 6 months
• Must pass Prophecy Dysrhythmia exam 24-48 hours prior to position acceptance (maximum 2 attempts)
• Must pass a Pass/Fail sterile technique exam on day 1 of orientation, with emphasis on sterile field technique
• Ability to interpret EKGs independently required
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor reference within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

• Provide telemetry nursing care to cardiac and post-procedural patients with centralized monitoring
• 2 days of floor-specific orientation provided
• 12 hours of general orientation included
• Navy scrubs required
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel positioning
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any Common Spirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity Health, within the past year
