Counter Sales Specialist

• Provide friendly customer service following Van Marcke standards.
• Assist customers with questions and help them locate merchandise.
• Assist in receiving, stocking, pricing merchandise and maintaining a clean, orderly store.
• Perform all duties in a POS checkout environment.
• Monitor the unloading of all materials into the facility, ensure staging for counting and inspection, and maintain accurate receiving reports.
• Store materials properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
• Resolve discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiving reports.
• Ensure appropriate merchandise stock levels, adjacencies, and presentations; manage signing and assortment in all departments.
• Conduct regular store staff meetings, walkthroughs, and audits to ensure policy compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, including trash removal, dusting, mopping floors, cleaning restrooms, associate rooms, and stockroom.
• Perform any other duties directed by the store manager or upper management.

• High School degree; some college preferred.
• Previous experience in a retail environment, sales or merchandising roles.
• Product knowledge of hardware‑related and/or plumbing products and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekdays and weekends.
• Ability to travel to other store locations if needed.
• Must stand for extended periods and lift 50 pounds frequently when loading/unloading customer orders.
