Position Summary
The Sr Benefits Manager is responsible for the oversight, design, administration, and continuous improvement of Vessco Water’s benefits programs across a growing, multi-entity platform. This role serves as the day‑to‑day benefits leader, ensuring high‑quality employee experience, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Duties And Essential Functions- Lead the administration of all health and welfare benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, leave programs, and wellness initiatives.
- Partner with HRBP’s to manage leave requests and create workflows.
- Partner with the Director, Total Rewards on benefit strategy, plan design changes, cost management initiatives, and long‑term roadmap planning.
- Lead annual benefit renewals and Open Enrollment, including vendor coordination, employee education strategy, and execution.
- Evaluate benefit program effectiveness using utilization, cost, and employee feedback data; recommend enhancements as needed.
- Serve as the primary operational contact for benefit brokers, carriers, and third‑party administrators.
- Manage ongoing vendor performance, issue resolution, and service‑level expectations.
- Partner with vendors on implementation of new plans, tools, or programs.
- Lead benefits integration for newly acquired platform partners, including due diligence support, plan transitions, employee communications, and enrollment execution.
- Ensure consistent benefit practices across the platform while balancing local needs and legacy plans where appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125, non‑discrimination testing, etc.).
- Partner with internal stakeholders on audits, filings, and required reporting.
- Support Benefits Committee governance by preparing materials, analysis, and recommendations as requested.
- Directly manage and develop the Benefits Specialist, providing coaching, prioritization, and performance feedback.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of benefit enrollments, life events, invoices, and employee inquiries.
- Partner with HR Operations and Finance to ensure accurate deductions, billing, and reconciliations.
- Continuously identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve documentation, and enhance the employee experience.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field, or combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in benefits administration, with demonstrated ownership of complex benefit programs.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and Open Enrollment in a multi‑state environment.
- Strong working knowledge of benefits compliance and regulations.
- Proven ability to lead projects, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively in a fast‑growing organization.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex benefit topics for employees and leaders.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or rapid organizational growth.
- Prior people management experience.
- Benefits certification (CEBS or similar).
- Experience working with HRIS platforms such as UKG.
Compensation: $147,000-$160,000 + bonus (Dependent on experience and qualifications)

The employee is occasionally required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Standard office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is minimal.
