- Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers.
- Perform annual/systematic 90‑day inspections of trailers to ensure compliance with Federal FHWA standards.
- Operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and the shop as needed.
- Identify parts and supplies as required.
- Adhere to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies and procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous waste.
- Keep the work environment clean, organized, and maintained to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
- Use welding equipment as required.
Skills and Abilities
- At least 1 year of experience with general knowledge of equipment theory, principles, and repair relating to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- At least 1 year of experience with general knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- High school diploma, completion of G.E.D., or equivalent vocational school (preferred but not required).
- Dynamic, ambitious, and engaged team player.
