Yard Laborer

McCarthy Building Companies is looking for Yard Laborer for our Channelview, TX location. This position will provide support for the field operations through equipment operation and delivery of supplies to and from the yard and/or vendors to job sites. This role is also responsible for the organization and upkeep of the yard, as well as various material handling and preparation activities related to the construction industry.

• Able to operate a forklift plus
• Loading/unloading of supplies from trucks and trailers, at times utilizing equipment to accomplish tasks.
• Cleaning and organizing miscellaneous construction equipment/materials
• Communicating with key team members to ensure timely and accurate deliveries are consistently achieved.
• General outdoor maintenance of yard exterior and shop
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard.
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed in the yard and while operating McCarthy vehicles
• Daily Coordination Meetings.
• Daily Task Hazard Analysis Meeting prior to the start of work.

• Must possess a current and valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. Work is primarily conducted outdoors and in a delivery vehicle
• Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Any experience working in a construction yard or similar environment isa plus.
• Ability to tow and back a trailer is a plus.
