Role Summary

We’re hiring an experienced Infant/Toddler Assistant Teacher to support our youngest learners with loving care, strong safety habits, and consistent routines. This role is hands‑on and fast‑moving—ideal for someone who truly enjoys babies and toddlers and understands what quality care looks like.

Non‑Negotiable Requirement

✅ Prior childcare experience with infants and/or toddlers is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Lead Teacher with daily care routines: feeding, diapering/toileting, nap supervision, transitions
  • Provide active supervision at all times (eyes‑on, within reach, anticipating safety risks)
  • Help maintain safe, clean, sanitary classroom standards (diapering protocols, bottle/food handling, toy sanitation)
  • Comfort children and support social‑emotional development with calm, consistent responses
  • Assist with age‑appropriate activities: music, sensory play, language development, fine/gross motor
  • Keep daily notes accurate (meals, naps, diapers, mood/needs) and communicate respectfully with families and leadership
  • Step in as needed to support ratios and classroom coverage
What We’re Looking For
  • Warm, patient, and emotionally steady—especially during crying, transitions, and big toddler feelings
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Comfortable with a physically active role (lifting, bending, floor time)
  • Team‑first, coachable, and committed to doing things the right way every day
Requirements
  • Must meet Virginia childcare employment requirements (background checks, etc.)
  • CPR/First Aid preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to follow strict safety and health procedures consistently
What Success Looks Like
  • Babies and toddlers are safe, soothed, engaged, and cared for with consistency
  • Classroom routines run smoothly (feeding/diaper/nap transitions)
  • Cleanliness and sanitation are always on point
  • Families feel confident and supported
