Estimator – Compu Dynamics

Summary / ObjectiveThe Sr. Electrical Estimator is responsible for estimating the cost, time, materials, labor, and equipment for construction projects, performing cost analyses, determining project duration, procuring pricing from vendors and subcontractors, and ensuring that resources are managed and deadlines are met. This position requires no direct supervision.
Essential Functions- Determine the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labor for construction projects.
- Research construction documents and analyze specifications.
- Review RFPs/design documents and prepare RFIs as needed.
- Prepare estimates to meet project goals, setting work hours, sequencing tasks, obtaining materials, and securing the best deals with vendors and subcontractors.
- Manage pre‑qualifications and pre‑bid submissions.
- Create the project BOM for the estimate and submit it for pricing.
- Update the estimating tracker daily.
- Ensure that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.
- Formulate contingency plans and effectively manage risks that might impact cost and time estimates.
- Keep up to date with the latest estimating technology and industry‑related trends.
- Collaborate with other teams and conduct site visits as needed.
- Attend estimate review meetings.
- Assist with project management tasks as needed.
- Maintain an elevated level of professionalism with clients, vendors, and colleagues; work to establish a positive working relationship.
- Provide timely and completed documentation of work performed.
- Operate vehicles and other equipment safely; adhere to safety protocols; report hazards and risks; contribute to a safe and secure working environment.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent education and experience.
- 7+ years of estimating experience.

- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Applied Science, Architecture or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of Electrical, Mechanical, or Infrastructure estimating experience.
- Commercial general contractor/construction experience.
- PMP Certification.
