Project Engineer - Land Development and Site Design

Urban Ltd provides full‑service civil engineering, transportation engineering, land planning, landscape architecture, and surveying services to private and public sector clients throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.

Urban is currently seeking Land Development and Site Design Project Engineers with 3‑5 years of experience. Successful candidates will be based in our Chantilly, VA office and work onsite five days a week.

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Preferably hold EIT certification (not required).
• Experience designing, preparing, and processing land development applications.
• Familiarity with Northern Virginia jurisdictions.
• Experience with commercial, residential, and mixed‑use projects.
• Ability to make well‑informed design decisions based on civil engineering concepts and locality requirements.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented, ensuring excellence across all work products submitted to Project Managers.
• Active contribution to the preparation of full sets of construction plans.

• Drafting of CAD drawings and details for site and subdivision plans.
• Site layout and utility design.
• Horizontal and vertical design of roadways.
• Preparation of erosion and sediment control plans.
• Generating hydrologic computations for SWM facilities.
• Preparing site work quantity take‑offs.
• Coordination with internal and external engineers, architects, etc.
