We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to help drive the development and expansion of our Water Business across the metro Washington, DC area. In this role, you’ll provide technical leadership and oversee the delivery of major water and wastewater treatment and infrastructure projects for our clients. You’ll lead project teams, manage budgets and schedules, and serve as the primary client contact—ensuring excellence in every phase of project execution.

You’ll also play a key role in business development, marketing strategies, and client engagement, with opportunities to shape win strategies and pricing for new work. There are opportunities to mentor team members, recruit top talent, and collaborate with leaders across the Southeast Region.

Responsibilities
  • Engineering Solutions Design:
    Design engineering solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief that conforms to standards.
  • Engineering Standards Specification:
    Contribute to the analysis of information, the drafting of engineering standards and specifications, and the evaluation of their effectiveness within the engineering discipline.
  • Project Management:
    Deliver small- or medium-scale projects within an established program management plan.
  • Process Design Engineering:
    Analyze information and specify methods and process steps and equipment required to design and improve manufacturing or process systems within cost and quality parameters.
  • Contract Management:
    Manage day-to-day relationships with contract service providers within a contract management plan.
  • Product and Solution Development:
    Define and deliver products and services that meet customer needs within established systems.
  • Knowledge Management:
    Work within knowledge management systems to deliver preset outcomes.
  • Personal Capability Building:
    Develop capabilities through assessment, development planning, training, coaching, and external accreditation where relevant.
  • Engineering Inspections:
    Carry out inspections to evaluate quality and regulatory conformance.
  • Improvement/Innovation:
    Identify and address shortcomings in processes, systems, and procedures through change management programs.
  • Client & Customer Management (External):
    Manage relationships with small clients and support senior colleagues with larger key clients.
What you’ll bring to the team
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland and/or Virginia preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in planning, design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure and/or treatment facilities (at least 5 years serving clients in the metro Washington, DC area a plus)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to mentor and lead professional staff
  • Business development, proposal preparation, and marketing skills preferred; flexible and able to meet challenging deadlines
  • Strong client focus

Salary range: $103,500-$172,500 based on experience and location
