Systems Engineer
Tranche 3 Technical Lead – Chantilly, VA
Responsibilities- Provide technical oversight and leadership to the Tranche 3 development, testing, integration, and operations effort
- Oversee systems engineering processes, including cost, schedule, and performance trade-offs
- Support requirements management and analysis, interface management, architecture development, and test and evaluation processes
- Work with the development team to clarify requirements, provide feedback, and ensure issue identification and resolution are tracked
- Review engineering documents and participate in milestones such as System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, and Critical Design Review, providing subject matter expertise
- Work with multiple teams and program offices supporting the coordination, development, and execution of system test plans and integration efforts: planning, coordinating, executing tests; deconflicting resources; analyzing test data; identifying and facilitating resolution of issues; documenting test results
- Perform risk management activities, including identification and assessment, and develop risk mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with other teams by actively participating in cross‑functional communication to ensure integration of system requirements throughout program life cycles
- Resolve highly complex and multi‑dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program
- Provide technical advice/input to the customer’s leadership that lays the strategic foundation for critical national capability and the customer’s future initiatives
- Incorporate Joint Warfighter, Mission Partners, and internal customers’ feedback on product strategy to identify the best path to improve efficiencies
- Collect and analyze feedback from end‑users, stakeholders, and other teams to shape integration processes
- Develop briefings, written reports, and assessments for various audiences, from working level to senior executives
- Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, and math
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience with satellite and ground systems
- TS/SCI clearance required
- Strong experience in the engineering of space systems
- Experience across the entire development life cycle, from requirements and concept definition through operations
- Experience in systems engineering
- Understanding of modeling and simulation systems
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Master’s degree in science, technology, engineering, and math
- Experience with DoD and/or IC customers
- Current experience with space systems
