Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Senior Cyber Security Detections Engineer on a long term contract providing Cyber Security services supporting an Intelligence Community customer. All the personnel on the team will work together to provide security services and capabilities necessary to ensure IT services provided to the IC customer workforce are secure. This includes Identity and Access Control Infrastructure Operations, Cross Domain Infrastructure Operations, Cyber Security Infrastructure Operations, Cyber Security Operations, Information Technology (IT) Audit Infrastructure, and Security Infrastructure Operations.

The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.

• Formulates and publishes custom Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool content and IDS/IPS signatures to address threats.
• Performs security event and incident correlation using information gathered from a variety of sources within the enterprise.
• Analyzes and assesses damage to the data / infrastructure as a result of cyber incidents.
• Performs cyber incident trend analysis and reporting.
• Characterizes and performs analysis of network traffic and system data to identify anomalous activity and potential threats to resources.
• Provides detection, identification, and reporting of possible cyber-attacks/intrusions, anomalous activities, and misuse activities.
• Creates, deploys, and implements threat-based signatures and detection rules for operational intrusion detection capabilities.

Clearance Required TS/SCI with CI poly.

Degree and Years of Experience Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of additional cyber experience in lieu of degree.

• 5+ years of cyber experience.

Required Certifications

• DoD 8570 certification meeting IAT Level II (GSEC, Security+, SSCP, or CCNA-Security) required.

Required Skills

• Experience with modern Windows, UNIX, network operating systems, databases, and virtual computing.
• Experience with enterprise security tools, including Security information and event management (SIEM), Threat intelligence platforms (TIPs), or Network monitoring tools.
• Experience with creating, modifying, tuning, IDS signatures/SIEM correlation searches and other detection signatures.
• Knowledge of counter-measures or mitigating controls.

Desired Skills

• Advanced skills in Linux/Unix (command line user—proficient and used in the last 6 months.)

Physical Requirements

• The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
