Leidos is seeking an experienced aviation weather forecaster.

The Aviation Weather Forecaster is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) working within a specialized crew environment, who uses background knowledge and various weather‑related tools to provide the customer with guidance and recommendations. Ability to multi‑task, strong communication skills, and a firm grasp of Crew Resource Management skills are integral components of successful performance.

The forecaster will continuously develop their foundational and operational expertise through self‑study and will have the opportunity to apply this knowledge by finding both time‑critical and long‑term solutions to unconventional problems.

Providing target‑specific mission planning and execution forecasts to maximize capabilities and effectiveness.

Continuously analyzing weather parameters and working with mission planners to avoid inclement weather.

Maintaining and developing additional SME‑level knowledge on predicting and evaluating weather conditions around the globe.

Providing crew members and senior government officers with mission‑focused weather forecasts and reports.

Performing post‑mission assessments and recommendations to senior government staff.

TOP SECRET / SCI clearance required with the ability to pass a polygraph examination. Candidates who already possess a polygraph are preferred. This job entails regular shift work with a dynamic schedule. No overseas deployment is required.

Minimum 4 years’ experience as a qualified weather forecaster for ISR operations with experience in multiple AORs (CENTCOM, INDOPACOM, SOUTHCOM).

Bachelor’s degree (or 4+ years additional relevant experience) in a related field or completion of USMIL weather forecasting school(s).

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment and to complete assignments with little or no supervision.

Flawless history in handling classified materials in and around controlled facilities.

Experience supporting collection platforms.

Knowledge in JMPS/PFPS/Falconview.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline (additional years of experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree).

Demonstrated technical understanding of government operations, communications networks and computer systems.

Pay Range $73,450.00 – $ (general guideline only; additional factors considered include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, internal equity, market data and applicable law).
