Job Description
Program Overview:
This program consists of multiple contractors collaborating to establish a standard aerospace data model, as well as developing a Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI) using a private cloud infrastructure/framework to support data validation and movement across a classified systems guard. You will use emerging services and distributed computing technologies for satellite data processing. You will work with cybersecurity experts, Scrum and Agile professionals, engineers (systems, software, network, and cloud reliability), and infrastructure administrators to design and sustain cloud infrastructure to host spacecraft command and control systems.
About the Role
Trusted Space is seeking a Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA office in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) Community customer as part of a highly talented, highly motivated and high-performing team. As part of the systems engineering team, you will support an exciting program which involves design, development, test, deployment, and maintenance of an exciting and complex system in an Agile construct to contribute to mission success for a variety of stakeholders.
What you'll do:
- Work closely with DoD customers and stakeholders throughout system lifecycle in development, integration & test, deployment, and operations of a highly sophisticated ground system architecture.
- Help build mission-critical, highly available, high-performance networked systems in a team-oriented environment.
- Develop systems engineering-related documentation to include operational concept, requirements, specifications, interface control documents, and validation & verification plans.
- Conduct system planning and design for expansion of these resources to meet program needs.
- Support ground system related trade studies.
- Providing a private cloud infrastructure for a DoD customer.
- Provide the infrastructure needed to support virtualized operating systems and containerized applications for tactical and operational systems.
- An active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain or maintain a poly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or related field with 5+ years experience, or 3+ years experience with a Masters degree. However, equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
- CompTIA Security + certification or working toward certification.
- 2+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering related field.
- Experience working with Linux-based operating systems, scripting languages for task automation, and system configuration automation software (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.).
- Direct experience in system integration and testing, and system configuration of networked services, file systems, and authentication experience.
