OverviewWe are seeking a Data Engineer who will provide development services in support of mission‑critical functions.
What will you do?- Demonstrated experience with data engineering, including designing and building data infrastructure, developing data pipelines, transforming/preparing data, ensuring data quality and security, and monitoring/optimizing systems.
- Experience with data management and integration, designing and operating robust data layers for application development across local and cloud or web data sources.
- Programming experience with Python.
- Building scalable ETL and ELT workflows for reporting and analytics.
- General Linux computing and advanced bash scripting.
- SQL experience.
- Constructing complex multi‑data source queries with database technologies such as Postgre
SQL, MySQL, Neo4J or RDS. - Processing data sources containing structured or unstructured data.
- Developing data pipelines with NiFi to bring data into a central environment.
- Delivering results to stakeholders through written documentation and oral briefings.
- Using code repositories such as Git.
- Using Elastic and Kibana technologies.
- Working with multiple stakeholders.
- Documenting artifacts such as code, Python packages and methodologies.
- Using Jupyter Notebooks.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques including natural language processing.
- Explaining complex technical issues to junior data scientists, in graphical, verbal, or written formats.
- Developing tested, reusable and reproducible work.
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years’ experience in systems engineering or related field.
- Experience with Python and AWS.
- Experience with SQL, Postgre
SQL, MySQL, RDS. - Must be able to build data infrastructure, develop data pipelines, prepare & transform data, and ensure data quality.
