Unarmed Security Officer-Part time

Position Summary

The BAS Unarmed Security Officer provides physical security, fixed and roving patrols, access control, vehicle inspection, X‑ray and magnetometer screening, Closed Circuit TV monitoring, dispatch, visitor processing, VIP protection, and administrative services.

• Provide security protection and access control.
• Protect government property, classified material and personnel within assigned areas of responsibility to preclude unauthorized access, theft, or intentional destruction.
• Work in a busy office environment subject to frequent interruptions.
• Lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs as required.
• Report/respond to unusual or emergency situations.
• Stay alert to potential security, property or safety concerns and initiate appropriate actions.
• Control ingress into and/or out of posted, controlled or secured areas.
• Prevent and report all violations of security and safety rules and regulations; respond to protective alarm signals or other suspicious activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Current Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance required.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Fluency in reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English.
• Ability to prepare detailed written reports and complete forms.
• Excellent customer service and decision‑making skills.
• Capability to function in a fast‑paced environment and multitask with minimal assistance.
• Military, law‑enforcement, and/or security experience preferred.
• Team‑lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Passed drug screen, criminal background check, and driving record check.
• Current Control Room Operator on contract or completion of 40 hours of Control Room Operator training required.
