Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic Fire Alarm Technician to join our culture. In this role, you will install, program, start-up/check-out, certify, and train customers on assigned projects, including small or less complex projects. What You’ll Do- Test, inspect, and service commercial fire-alarm systems within assigned buildings.
- Ensure required testing equipment and materials are on site for effective and safe testing and inspection.
- Identify and report problems or discrepancies found in the systems you inspect.
- Complete required documentation including deficiency repair recommendations.
- Follow and maintain highly structured inspection schedules.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all tests performed.
- Complete service ticket documentation before leaving customer site.
- Provide instruction to customer personnel regarding proper system operation and routine inspections.
- Interact with building owner or building engineer prior to, during, and following completion of the testing process.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with all inspections and testing.
- Review reports and initiate next steps as necessary.
- Follow all local, corporate, and OSHA safety procedures and policies.
- Complete assigned training and certification within time frames required for the position.
- Mentor or assist less experienced colleagues on the job.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to meet customer needs and wants without prompting.
- Willingness to learn technical skills related to fire alarm systems and/or electronic security systems.
- Self-starter who can work with minimal direct supervision.
- Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (tools: drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.

Education:
High School/GED or equivalent experience
Preferred Experience:
