AboutThe Role
Are you ready to take the next step in your low-voltage career? We’re looking for a skilled, driven Technician who’s passionate about installing, testing, and troubleshooting a wide range of communication systems. From fiber optics to access control, you'll be part of a team that builds the infrastructure powering today's most advanced commercial spaces.
What You’ll Do – Execute with Precision. Lead with Accountability.- Install with Confidence:
Handle installation and termination of Coax, UTP, DAS, AV, Multiconductor, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and Fiber cables and connectors. - Test and Troubleshoot:
Operate copper and fiber test equipment; identify and resolve performance issues. - Interpret and Implement:
Read and apply drawings, specifications, and job scopes accurately. - Plan Ahead:
Anticipate weekly labor and material needs with a proactive mindset. - Support Team Efficiency:
Build and follow daily to-do lists, and ensure installers follow standards and best practices. - Upgrade Infrastructure:
Perform retrofits and system enhancements for existing cabling and devices. - Lead Field Execution:
Assist in laying out cable pathways with minimal direction and help direct junior crew members. - Install Equipment:
Mount and configure electronic devices such as switches, cameras, and UPS systems. - Track and Communicate:
Report daily task progress to Project Leads; monitor and track project materials. - Maintain Standards:
Promote safety, professionalism, and cleanliness on-site; represent the company with pride. - Support Compliance:
Follow OSHA 10 guidelines and ensure installations align with industry and Instrata standards. - Collaborate Actively:
Work closely with Leads and Foremen to plan bonding, grounding, fire stopping, and other key elements of the project.
- 1–2 years of low-voltage installation experience in commercial construction
- Knowledge of color codes (4- and 25-pair) and cable termination methods
- Familiarity with cabling codes, standards, and tools for structured installations
- Ability to interpret schematics and work independently or under guidance
- Basic use of smartphones, tablets, and cable test equipment
- Comfortable with Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Familiarity with Smartsheet and other project tracking tools
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
- OSHA 10 Certification (required)
- Valid, clean driver’s license
- Must pass drug screen, background check, and I-9 verification

This is a physically active, field-based position. You’ll regularly lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in tight or elevated spaces. The job involves standing, kneeling, crouching, and handling tools for extended periods. Travel may be required depending on job site location.
