Junior Full Stack Developer (Java/Spring)

We are seeking a motivated Junior Full Stack Developer with a strong interest in data engineering to join our growing technical team. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience working with Java, Python, SQL, and relational databases, and be eager to contribute to building scalable, data‑driven applications that support critical business and mission objectives.

You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, APIs, and tools to intake and manage data.

This position is hybrid with one to three days per week in Chantilly VA or Woodbridge VA.

The candidate will be required to pass a high‑risk public trust background investigation.

Position Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines, APIs, and backend systems primarily using Java, Python and SQL
  • Design and implement relational database models (Postgre

    SQL)
  • Write and maintain shell scripts for data automation, ETL processes, and deployment tasks
  • Work with both structured and unstructured data, ensuring high‑quality and reliable data processing
  • Collaborate with product and data teams to align data solutions with mission requirements, use cases, and end‑user experience goals
  • Support front‑end integration with backend services, and contribute to full‑stack development efforts as needed
  • Participate in Agile development cycles, including sprint planning, code reviews, and daily stand‑ups
  • Assist in implementing Dev Ops practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Contribute to containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in software engineering roles
  • Proficiency in Java, Spring, Python and SQL
  • Solid understanding of relational database design and experience with Postgre

    SQL, MySQL, or MS SQL Server
  • Experience with shell scripting (e.g., Bash)
  • Proven ability to analyze and work with structured and unstructured data
  • Strong technical and computational skills, with the ability to relate data to business or mission objectives and user needs
  • Top Secret clearance or High Risk Public Trust Suitability
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with JavaScript and/or Type Script for front‑end or full‑stack development
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative development environments
  • Experience with Dev Ops toolsets (e.g., Git Lab CI/CD, Jenkins, Git Hub Actions)
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Containerd, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Experience with data query, visualization, and search tools such as Elasticsearch, Open Search, Metabase, or Trino
