Software Engineer, Java Developer, Full Stack Developer

OverviewVTG is seeking a Software Engineer-Expert for a 200+ FTE technical development program supporting the Sponsor’s Entitlement Programs as well as IdAM /ICAM, Authentication, Authorization, Attributes and Digital Policy Management. The Software Engineer will work with a large team of developers, software engineers and data engineers. The successful candidate will support continuity of our customer’s mission by helping to modernize and implement industry standards while ensuring secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of IT systems.

What will you do?

Manage the tasking of a small-medium size development teamo Collaboratively work with leadership and architects on design, planning, statusing, and architectureo Collaborate with internal and external teams for integrations and tasking deliveryo Comfort and familiarity in maintaining legacy application so Experience in modernization of legacy application so Ability to write custom scripts to install and configure code in EC2 instanceso Experience leveraging Amazon Web Serviceso Experience creating RESTful APIo

Experience with spring booto Develop Java and Angular (Typescript) o Comfort and familiarity designing and utilizing custom ETL methodologyo Strong communication, design, and documentation skillso Strong time and workflow management skillso Comfort and familiarity in unit testing, peer code review, and automated testing techniques like Selenium (create, edit, maintain, execute) o Work within the parameters of Agile & Scrum methodologieso Willingness to mentor and teach developers’ community best practices in a constructive fashiono Ability to methodically think through technical challenges in a collaborative team environment in order to provide technically sound solutions

Do you have what it takes?

Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required. BS degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience
· Must have experience in multiple programming languages (Java, spring boot, Angular (Typescript), and the Cloud / Amazon Web Services)
· Full Stack Development
· Prior experience developing solutions to satisfy customer requirements and specifications
· Knowledge of Git, Jenkins, selenium, and Rundeck
· Experiencing working in Command Line (RH Linux)
