Transportation Specialist – Shuttle Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee daily transit operations, providing ongoing training of safety requirements and route evaluations both onboard and following to ensure quality control.
- Ensure routes continue without interruption through mobile communication.
- Inspect all in‑service vehicles to ensure they maintain headways, including analyzing running times, frequency needs, passenger loads, and time‑point checks.
- Monitor conditions of routes and report findings to the Transportation Manager.
- Supervise, instruct, and conduct routine checks of operators and document daily activity as required.
- Arrange for a support bus to transport passengers when an accident or problem occurs, eliminating delays and assisting in unloading and loading passengers.
- Perform traffic checks at various locations.
- Prepare daily operational reports.
- Maintain effective working relationships with operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel.
- Prepare daily and special reports as required.
- Supervisory responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 3+ years of experience in the field.
- Previous experience as a driver with a valid Commercial Driver’s License with P (Passenger) endorsement.
- Valid current driver’s license required with an insurable driving record.
- Background check.
- Flexibility to travel between locations as needed.
- Knowledge of the capital region roads is highly preferred.
- Ability to meet minimum security clearance requirements.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that include the ability to interact with a wide variety of key stakeholders to ensure timely responses for all communications and deliverables across all projects.
- Superb planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Results‑driven with a positive attitude and a high degree of initiative and responsiveness.
- Ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and attend to details while staying focused on key priorities and management.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
